what up, new here and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a big time honda freak but I've always loved the square body chevys. I had a 76' sbc that I did a frame off and due to a stupid decision I sold, regret to this day!! I looked for a while for another one that was in the right condition and came across this one.

1981 k10 4wd 292 I6 and manual trany, I got this from the original owner,he bought it off the show room floor, the title was still in the original envilope postmarked april1981! unbelievable to me. he babied this truck and included all the records from day one. So the guy thought the head gasket was bad due to some coolant leaking from the front of the head and he stopped driving it a year prior. well,HE GAVE ME THIS TRUCK, cause he thought it was no good any more 8) so I figured these trucks are easy and cheap to fix "how bad could it be?" a thermostat housing gasket, starter and battery later it turns out this truck is awesome, no head gasket!! there is no rust, dents, dings and due to the great care he took of it the hose's,belt's and ignition system was all pretty new also and the gear box's fluids were all clear. one small tear in the drivers side of the seat and a couple cracks in the dash and faded paint are the major flaws. so far I've installed an alpine stereo system changed the shocks, put in new door seals, new exhaust system and put on 32x10.50 tires on chrome mod rims. I have a few other plans to fix it up more but nothing crazy, I dont want to ruin such a nice truck.
glad I found this site and having a great time looking at all the awesome square bodys, let me know what you guys think

and a pic of out playing,I ended up being the one who rescued my friends 98' chevy W/ 6''lift and 35's. I drug his truck out of a four foot snow bank and about 50 yards through a three foot deep ditch till it popped out.these old truck are unstoppable!!

not much room back there but I use it wisely..tool bag, bag with emergency supplies, a 10''sub and of course my reuseable grocery bags. despite the old gas guzzling truck I am eco friendly.
