Well here goes when I turn on my blinkers especially the right it blinks slow "the right way you can hear the blinker noise" then starts blinking fast like a bulb is blown but all the bulbs are good i just checked them all it does this for left side also what do yall think is wrong thanks
-
Try a new relay.
-
Also with the right blinker on if you hit the brake the right blinker stays on solid
Where is the relay at and what does it look like thanks
-
At the fuse panel, it's round and about the same diameter as a golf ball. There is one for the hazards and one for the turn signals. They are only a couple bucks so I would try that first. Not sure why it stays on with the brakes though.
-
just put a new relay in still same problem any more suggestions im about to try a new turn signal switch but i think ive got to have an adapter what have yall done to get by without an adapter or where do you get an adapter
-
For adapting what?
-
For the new turn signal switch

I have a '76 also and when I bought a new turn signal switch, I had to use the old black harness connector because none fo the new ones would fit. Tried different year models of trucks and same year model cars and nothing would plug in. I just spliced all the wires from the new switch to the old harness connector and it works fine.

I trimmed the new turn signal switch to make it fit and all my lights work now there was a jumper wire going from the brake light switch to the rear for what reason the PO did that i dont know but its gone now and everything is working thanks for the help guys i really appreciate it

The PO probably put the wire for the rear brakes because he could not find out why he was having a problem like you did.
