Title: misses under load

well i was pulling my 5x8 trailer and my fourwheeler today when going up a hill my truck would cut out also when i got back home and dropped the trailer i went for a ride and once you get to 4th (its a manual trans) and hammer on it it starts cutting out im thinkin fuel filter but just wanted to see what some of yall thought im gonna get a new filter tomorow and maybe a new pump thanks bye the way its a stock 350 with the q jet manual choke so its not sticking

I had a similar problem and it ended up being that the wires were worn almost to the point of breaking on the pick up coil.

my distributor is only 3 months old it is a Accel brand new dist plugs and wires

     More info please.  You said under load or if you gun it in 4th.  Is this the only time, have you tried to get it up into higher rpm in 3rd and see if does it also ?  
     How is your carb ?  Have you checked your secondaries to make sure they are opening properly ?  Does your carb. have the screen where the fuel line goes into it.
     Did this just start, or since you put the new distributor in ?  You said your dist. is 3 months old, is your vacuum advance can in the new dist. the same size as the old one ?
     Just a couple of thoughts, but like you said, I would put a new fuel filter on, and check the fuel pressure on your pump, no need to change it if it is still good.

I'd check that module. Accel is known to produce some duds.

I changed the filter and the pump i think that fixed the problem ill have to hook up a trailer now just to be sure but i got on the highway and hammered on it till i got up to about 80 MPH and it didnt cut out any hopefully its all good now thanks for the help guys

I put and accel coil and cap on my distributor and it didn't work at all. Ill never buy and accel part again. I took it back and ordered the same parts from msd and the work great. The accel cap was actually loose and the connections were loose also.
