hey everyone, i was wondering what you would use to repair the seam around the roof line? looks like it was a silicone or caulking.
-
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but pretty much if its on a car or truck and looks like caulk its seam sealer.
-
Seam sealer. You will have best results if you dig all the old crap out with a utility knife or something. Then sand the seam with a piece of 220 folded in half, prime with self etching, a catalyzed urethane primer. Spread the seam sealer into the seam, then was excess off, and smooth up the sealer in the seam with lacquer thinner.
-
Ditch the seam all together if you're at that point.

thanks guys. i wasn't sure what it was. mine is starting to separate and was wondering what it was. vilezambonie would it be a matter of just cleaning it out and bondo-ing the area. i've got a dent in the top back corner by the slider, is there access to pop it out or would it be best to bondo that area as well? any suggestions would be appreciated.

If your going to fill the seam it needs to be welded. Body filler will crack and fall out.

thanks blazin', appreciate the info!
