I like the fact he rolled because he was trying to throw a cigarette out of a closed window.
I have never been in a roll over in a truck, but jeeps now that is a different story all together.  Fun times.  ;D ;D

I rolled my last truck purty good.  I saw one thing wrong with that video though....   People actually stopped to help...  I didn't know thats how it works.  Every time I have any kind of wreck, the whole area clears in about 2 seconds, and there's nobody in site.

I think I saw this one in drivers ed when I was 15

1) The start may be porn like(i wouldn't really know...) but i dig these straight-to-the-point, no bs instructional videos.

2) i thought this was just a mid-atlantic thing;  i got hit by a car while riding my bike to the point where i got blown off the bike and the bike looked like a pretzel.  There were at least 5-10 people at the intersection.  Did anyone rush over to help me?   NO.

3) The real reason i made this post is there's actually an actual, non-staged, live rollover of a 1/2 or 3/4 longbed in which the roof collapses in a significant amount.  The truck appears stock and it took place on pavement.  i think this deserves attention and concern.  i will post it as soon as i find it.

So Stewart, are you saying our trucks are "unsafe at any speed?"

Its all hearsay,  I have had my suburban on a 60 degree slope going down at a 45 angle and had not even a hint of instability, on bald tires.  Idiots and stupid are more of a rollover hazard than our trucks.  A little common sense goes a long way.

At 20 I rolled a 74 blazer, it was sad times and not my truck, but it was a good learnining experience as to what is too much on the street

I like how you can see him intentionally turn the wheel like he was pulling into a parking spot!
Rolled my Blazer years ago. Flopped it back on all fours, dragged it out of the ditch / woods, and back to my shop, refilled the trans fluid, put a new steering wheel on it ( I kinda bent the old one ), a used windshield, a used passenger door, and drove it down the road!

What year did they start putting urathane in the windshield gasket? If you replace one now, it's mandatory to use it to keep the windshield from popping out during a rollover. The windshield is actually part of the integrity of the roof. Something to think about if you have to replace one and do it yourself.

This is not the one, but in the meantime we can analyze it until i find the one i was talking about:

2) No, i'm not at all saying these trucks are "unsafe at any speed,"  but this video must be seen because it shows the roof collapsing a significant amount and the speed was not even that high.

3) i have no idea about the urethane.  This sounds important thought.

I ain't gonna say it isn't completely honest, as I wasn't there, but I've been in a truck like this when it rolled, and the cab roof held together enough to protect the three of us inside. Now... rolling down a hill like that... bad juju no matter what you're in. Makes me want to consider some additional roll protection in or around the cab.

I think the entire message in the first vid is that "If you smoke, bad things will happen to you".

I've got worse things to worry about other than smoking while driving, but just the same, if yer gonna do it, make sure to remember where you rolled yer window down too!
