i have an 87 silverado 4x4. it is starting to rust bad, so i am starting to tackle it. the 1st problem is the drivers gas tank. i havent used it in years because it had a leak. i found a lbunch of holes in the fill neck that screws to the bed and also in the 90 degree neck after that. i think the tank is good, but i cant find these pieces anywhere. i have an catalog, but they dont have it. any suggestions that dont include laying in the mud at the junkyard? thanks for all your help

Check with chris who owns this site, click on the 73-87 banner at top of the page, he might know where to get them. Or it's at the junkyard or if you have any recycling yards in your area.

You can still get these pieces from GM. I got a replacement neck as well as the rubber hose for my '77 from GM.

Chris allows discussion of where to find items not sold by this store with one exception. They sell similar products but many of us here agree that the quality of the products sold here and there are not the same. For example sheet metal, speaker pods, dashes etc. Just browse the catalog. We ask that you look here before you look there is all. They do definitely have items that are hard to find and are a valuable resource for those items. No one is telling you not to use them but for a while that site was being referenced here too much so a temporary ban was put on their name. There were a lot of people coming on here with very few posts promoting links to their site which were obviously tactics used to direct people to their site. Now think about that. That's like going into Firestone for tires and someone in the customer waiting area saying "why don't you go over to Sears for tires instead? They have the same tire with a 10% off coupon" It's just respect for the website here.
