I put my new carb and intake on but my transmission kickdown cable is restricting my throttle movement. I never noticed on my old carb but nothing changed with the cable. When I take the cable off and pull it with my hand it moves the same amount so I can only assume it had the same travel on the old carb as well. Unless its suppose to only allow a little throttle movement Im not sure but it defintately won't allow the throttle to go wide open or even half. Can someone enlighten me?

What carb and transmission do you have? Post a pic of the carb linkage and cable brackets.

My new carb is an Edelbrock AVS Thunder 650. The trans is a TH350. The old carb was a Rochester Quadrajet. Here is a picture of the linkage. I put a 1" carb spacer on so I had to mock up an extention but like I said, the cable does the same thing without it...

The bracker thats bolted to the carb intame at the top right. Corner needs to be raised to compensate for the carb spacer. Remove that "extension" on the linkage. It is hurting more than helping.
