I've got a th400 with a np208, and a np205 of a th400. I have the adaptor bracket for the th400/205. would of had the tranny to, but was in rough shape so settled for another th400. anyways i wanna bolt the np205 upto the th400 that had the np208, only question i have is do i need to do anything else or is the adaptor enough? had someone say tailshaft needs to be changed due to length issues or spline. not sure any input helps.

It does come with two shafts since you don’t have both transmissions i don’t think you can tell the difference. The difference between the two is only 1 5/8"

this is the 203/205

Jeepster 400 = 4 1/2"
400 to 203 = 1 3/8", 1.1" adapter
400 to 208 = 2 1/2"
400 to 205 = 4 1/2"

so basically figure out which shaft and spline count i have and if it doesnt match the 205, i should steal the one off the other tranny? hah
