I've seen a set-up like your describing on some Ford models (some V6 T-birds & Cougars & many 460's)...Two belts, standard rotation pump. The crank & water pump have Two "grooves" like a regular V-belt would be...one in front of the other. One goes to the Right & One goes to the Left. Can't say I've ever seen one on a GM engine. Lorne

Only standard rotation setup I've seen was on my 87 R10.  It had a serpintine belt for the alternator ONLY.  everything else ran off a V-Belt or two.

My 87 K5 is set up that way- Serp belt for alternator, V belt for AIR pump, Vbelt for Power steering and VBelt for A/C

this thread made me curious, so I went to look at my 86.

1 serp belt spins the water pump, alternator and air pump (emissions crap)
1 v-belt comes off the crank straight to the power steering
1 v-belt off the crank, to the water pump, a/c and then power steering

it has a v groove on back of crank pulley for power steering only on chevy long water pump kits ............the one for short water pumps dont have this groove ....check this ebay store  abad71camaro.... .You are bidding on a BRAND NEW SBC Belt Drive and Pulley Kit.
This kit includes:

·       Belt

·       Billet Aluminum Water Pump Pulley

·       Crank Pulley

·       Crank Spacer

·       Alternator Pulley

Kit is for use with Long Style water pumps and has cogged 1&1/2” wide belts to prevent slippage.

This kit is perfect for use in High RPM Applications.

For use with factory alternator passenger side crank pulley has V-Belt groove that can be used to run power steering. Will not work with A/C equipped vehicles.
