Alright, ive got to start saving $$ up for some tires. I really dont get to go off roadin too much, noone seems to be to eager to use their 4 wheel drive.
About the only driving i do is to work and back and that is only 1 1/2 miles from here, and occasionally around town.
Im thinking/wanting boggers or swampers but am starting to think that i should go with some Pro Comp's or Mud Kings. I only plan on running 35's. Getting a rim package and running 2 sets is definetly an option.
I want good drip in mud, and for hill climbs.

Tirerack.com is a great source for information on tires. They have an excellent user survey system setup offering results from those who've actually used the tires in question. Right now their best serious off road tire, called an off-road maximum traction tire by them, is the Bridgestone Dueler M/T D673. You can see the complete survey results for the ORMT tires here. Fore some reason Pirelli's new Scorpion Mud tire is listed as an all terrain tire but the high-void tread pattern suggests otherwise. The largest size I've found in those so far is a 31x10.50 The tread actually looks very similar to a retread tire I ran on my S-10 from high-tec-retreading.com Those tires went through anything, they were great. Unfortunately the retreader's largest tire is a 33, otherwise I'd be placing my order for 35s soon. Anyway...the only other tire I've heard anything about new and interesting was the ProComp XTerrain. Four Wheeler couldn't say enough good things about it when they tested it out. The reported it as quiet and comfortable on the highway and performing excellently off road. Let's see what everybody else has to say.

Im starting to lean toward the Super Swamper LTB. Biggest they come is 34, which can get through anything around here. Id like a 35 though... Only 113$ VS 140$ for the Regular Version. I figure right around 800$ w/o rims.
Anyone have any info on the LTB? 1979 Sierra -MEAN
