Why would you want to ruin the looks of a beautiful truck by doing this?
What do you mean inside mount tank? Fuel tank? There isn't enough room for a tank between the frame, and drive shaft. Whats wrong with the original tank? Just replace it if yours is shot from rust etc.

If you are talking about a Suburban/Blazer gas tank between the frame rails at the back, I have seen that done. I think you have to move that rear brace. Now as for putting that bed on one of these trucks, well I dont' care for the idea, but I haven't seen one done. I've seen them on a 55-57 didn't like that, seen them several times on 67-72s didn't like that either. The 77-87 stepside bed looks good, what's wrong with it? But If you want to be different go for it. Good luck.

The tank Igot is the strock one out of a 1994 it mount to the inside of frame rail. I must like the way it looks as I am doing it. Have had the truck years The bed was junk when I got it,put a wood bed on it but time to chane . Will look at rear gas tanks this weekend Thanks mclavey

I like it on the 67-72's, not our trucks

There is a member on here that has one on their trucks.  I don't think you will be able to use the tank though,  Frame widths are different.
This is my writeup on the rear blazer tank:
