Hello all. I have been finding myself reading this forum quite often, so why not join?
My name is Chris I'm married, two kids, three dogs and live in the Dallas, Texas area. I have a 78 Big 10 step side that has been my daily driver for 6 years or so and I love it. Everything that can leak is leaking on it (drivetrain, windows, weatherstripping, and tires). She's been good to me so I am going to return the favor. I've been inspired by many of the builds on this site and want to see what I can do, not to mention it's the perfect time to teach my son to turn wrenches.

I'm trying to post some pics from my computer, having trouble. Any tips?

Well, I read somebody's post about using photobucket and here are a few pics.
It is a 78 Big 10 Scottsdale trim package, California truck, no factory a/c, manual locks and windows 350/TH350, unsure of gear ratio, very minor rust, and I'm going with a 350 with double hump 2.02/1.60 heads, street/strip cam,600 cfm carb, dual plane intake, 700r4 tranny and I'm open to suggestions on differential selection. Planning on 4" drop front and rear, air conditioning, pw,pdl, wood bed and new interior.

Looks like a great project. I really like that you're involving your son. A great way to bond and you can learn together.

Welcome from MO. Nice ride.

Thank you all for the warm reception and compliments.
My wife asked what I want for Father's Day and of course I replied " I would like to get the engine for my truck". That was followed by a long pause and some sighs. Oh well, can't blame a guy for trying. I guess you can never have too many neckties...

lol ...you get an A for effort.

Welcome from California.

Welcome from the Denton area! Sounds like a great project to share with your son. I'm working on my 77' C20 and wished I could get my son involved. His joy in life is video games and everything about them. Love the sound of your plans. Congrats and good luck.

RCCoors,
Thanks for your comments. My son's life revolves around video games too. (I think they all do at 14) We made a deal. He will help me with my truck and use it in high school, then we will re-do a truck of his choice (GM of course).

thats a sweet deal. very kool.

Welcome from West Texas. That is a good lookiing truck

Thanks big bear and choptop.
Right now my son is anxious to get started on it, hopefully his enthusiasm will hold up. If not my wife is always willing to help. She has always helped me with our 2nd gen. F bodies. A woman like that is a keeper!

That is awesome Chris. A family affair in the making with memories to last a lifetime. Congrats and hope that it will be everything you want it to be!

RCCOORS
Let me know if I can help you out with anything. I live in Plano now, but I graduated from Denton High.

Appreciate the offer Chris but like most in life, my biggest problems are time and money. Never have have them at the same time!
