Title: Throttle cable
Post by: derrick79 on June 22, 2011, 01:57:58 am
With my new edelbrock carb my throttle cable is WAY to long. Is there a way to shorten it up? Also just wanted to ask where a good spot to put my return springs is. The bottom hole that swings up has my detent cable in it. Can I just somehow hook the springs to that stud?

Thanks

My throttle cables have always kind of looped, you most likely don't need to shorten it.

I replaced my quadrajet with an Edelbrock 1406.  Used the stock cable and did just as you said with the spring.

For the return spring, I bought a braket that mounts using one of the intake manifold bolts.  Suggest looping the cable,  It shouldnt be too long.

my c-30 has the 1406 carb and i didnt have to loop my cable but i have a bracket that came on the truck on the back bolt of the carb to put tension on the cable and have the spring on the engine lift bracket on the front of my motor
