Post by: cruisinc10 on June 28, 2011, 07:24:44 pm
Are the leaf springs from the 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1tons trucks all direct bolt in fit, also does blazer leaf springs fit on the pickups?

no some are wide than others if you like you cant fit 1 ton springs on 1/2 ton perches also some springs are longer i think the two measurements are 52 and 56. also blazer springs i could be wrong but are pretty much 1/2 tons and same deal 52 or 56

This is a loaded question.  Half ton trucks with std springs (52" rear) will swap with any model Pickup, Blazer.
Half and 3/4 1T with 56" will swap.

Can you narrow this down to something specific you are wanting to know?

The popular thing is to talk your stock rear springs move them up front with a shackle flip to gain you 4" - 5" of lift then shackles flip the rear springs with 56" springs. This allows you gain lift without creating a harsh ride and improve flexibility. Doing soon moves the front axle forward 1". So you have to address the steering generally converting over to crossover steering. Then of course shocks, brake lines, and driveshafts. Switching spring lenghts will require mounting points to be moved. Moving mounting point does ne require you to weld anything, just remove factory rivots, drilling new holes and bolting everything back up.
