My brake/signal bulbs aren't working. Both.
Fuse is good
Bulbs good
Everything seems snug
I can disassemble the housing and remove the bulb, upon reassembly everything works fine. At some point it quits working again. Wiring looks okay, but I suspect the splice done by a PO for the trailer hookup. I'll chase that down tomorrow, any other ideas to look at while I do?

seams like you have the right ideal on what to check and you should find your problem

i agree, start with what you listed and go from there. sometimes it helps to think out loud haha

Check the grounds behind the lenses and clean the sockets.

I had screwy wiring and similar issues when I first got my truck. The trailer "wiring" was a bunch of e-tape and some wire nuts. I butt spliced the 3 wires together and it was all better, but one night all my tail lights went out because the ground splice came loose. If youd like I can snap pics of the splice so you can see which wires.

Also check the plug end down under the frame

Thanks a lot guys, I'll let you know what I find.

I checked over everything with no luck. Finally pulled the bulbs again and noticed that one end of the filament in the pass side bulb was broken. I guess moving it around when putting it back in made contact for a while. New bulb and everything (driver's side too) works fine now. No idea how that happened. Still going to rewire the trailer pigtail this weekend.
