Title: Inoperative Brake Lights
Post by: pedigo78 on June 29, 2011, 07:03:05 pm
My 85 chevy c10 brake lights just stopped working. All the rest of the lights work properly  but the brake lights. I was looking on the pedal to see if there was a sensor that need to be adjusted but didnt feel anything all the pedal. So what triggers the brake lights when the pedal is depressed, and is there a seperate fuse that could have gone out?

the switch is connected to the brake pedal lever and is under the dash craw under and you will see it its more towards the front of the lever

Assuming you checked the bulbs and fuse you might have a problem in the wires. On my burb the wires corroded up where the grommet is. (where all the mud and debris get kicked up in the back.)
