Title: Getting a locking lug nut off?

On my 64 impala I have on each wheel a locking lug nut. I don't have the key anymore and want them off I read that people bang them off with hammers etc.. I want do it pretty much no cost having to buy any tools and damage the lug bolts ideas? There one on each rim..

I used an old socket on one before that's just a bit bigger beat it on and lossen it up.

Check with your local tire shop before you start tearin stuff up. They may be able to get it unlocked.

You can buy twist sockets that you pound on with a hammer. I have welded a nut onto them before too. Used a couple layers of duct tape to protect the rim.

Sears sells a set of sockets called "lug off". It's a socket with groves in it that you hammer on to the lock. The groves dig into the lock then you just back them off with a ratchet. The kit cost about $30.
