Title: EASTWOODS rust converter

Has anyone used this product?   I coated parts of my hitch bracing on my 87 short step, and it looks great.  The stuff says that you have to let it cure for 48 hours, but I am impatient to start painting.

Just wonded if you REALLY have to wait two days.

I've never used the stuff, but if it says to wait I'd wait.  There's some strong chemical reactions going on and I wouldn't want to bury something under paint that's still kickin'.

Yes you have to wait.  95% of paint failures I investigate are due to folks not following the technical data sheets that come with the coatings.

I've used the rustoleum quite a bit, but how do you know it works?  It goes on like black spray paint.

I have used everything rustoleum makes I think..... and they have good products...  I have Never, ever used anything like eastwoods.    took pitted rusted mild steel and made it ready for paint.   will post pics tomorrow.

yea it works great, usually I grind the rust of the metal then lay on at least two coats of stuff and paint over it, although there have been times were i could not grind the rust off and I put the same rustoleum rust converter and it did great just be sure to put down a good layer

     This is coming in a little late, the technicle answere to your question is yes you need to wait 48 hours, the rust converter uses air to start the oxidizing process so the converter can change the molectular structer of the rust.
     If you cover it with paint to soon it's smoothers it and it can not convert the rust properly.
