Title: MSD 6AL2 HEI installation question
Post by: TandocTools on July 02, 2011, 05:59:26 pm
I have my MSD 6AL2 almost in except for the red wire that gets a white jumper and goes to the "KEY CONNECTOR" which is described on page 15 of this document http://static.summitracing.com/global/images/instructions/msd-6421_frm30369.pdf
as a "heavy red or pink wire from car wiring harness" along with a diagram that shows a white jumper connecting to a connector that I cannot find and the only white jumper that came with my ignition is a splitter with one big female connection and 2 smaller male spades.  My truck is a 1975 GMC C15 with a 350 in it.  Where should I be looking for this connection?
Thanks,
Warren

I just skimmed that and the heavy red or pink wire "key connector" is a keyed power source--the existing power wire to your distributor.  There is even a picture of it and it looks just like the gm distributor power connector.  The white jumper may have several connectors on it to work in different applications, but it just looks like an adapter to connect the msd smaller red wire (keyed power) to the distributor power in your vehicle.
