Title: Brake booster
Post by: 84chevysilverado on July 05, 2011, 06:57:09 am: My brake booster has a leak everytime I hit the brakes you can hear the the booster lose vacume. My question is will an 88 chevy truck or newr booster work on mt 81 k5?

Post by: Lt.Del on July 05, 2011, 11:57:32 am: There are tests to see if the booster is bad. One is, do you have to nearly stand on your pedal to get the brakes to work? Should hear a whoooshing sound too when applying brakes.

lol na its all good no leaks and most time i dont even use them i just down shift.

Post by: VileZambonie on July 05, 2011, 02:12:04 pm: If your diaphragm is shot it's shot. Replace it. When you step on the pedal you should hear the sound of air pressure rushing in. If you hear a sustained suction sound when you depress the pedal replace the booster.
