the automatic transmission that were bolted to the 6.2L diesel, are the governors different than the governors used on automatic transmission that were bolted to gas engines? I'm pretty sure the torque converters are different between the gas an diesel, but I'm thinking the governors are going to be different as well. now if the governors are different, where would i go to buy a diesel governor for a TH400?

I don't know what gear ratios you're running but if you plan on driving very much over 45 mph, you'll be much better off converting to a 700R4 to get that extra gear. Not only will you get that extra gear but you'll get a lock up torque converter which is good for several mpg's. FYI, my 1982 Suburban has 3.08 gears and a 700R4 transmission. Without that extra gear, it would not be nearly as nice to drive.

ya i dont know what gear ratios my truck has, i kinda threw it off to the side for a little bit. i might eventually put a 700R4 in it, but if i end up doing that id like to have a complete wiring harness so i can wire it up.
