I got to work yesterday about 3:15pm (i work second shift) my shift starts at 3:30. well abiyt 3:35 when i was firing my machine up my wife called and was upset and said she just totaled her car. first of all i couldnt tell you what went through my head i was terrified. she told me where she was and that she was ok and i left work to see her. luckly she was about 2 miles from my work so i got there quick. she was on her way home from work and was heading to pick up our 3 year old thank God she hadnt picked her up yet. anyway she had turned onto a major road from a side road and got behind two cars well the first one ened up stoping and turning fast and she couldnt see the tail lights on the car in front of her because of how the sun was hitting and she hit a stoped car with her doing 35. both cars are totaled but everyone was ok just a little shaken up. my wife got a ticket but all she got was a $30 following too close. from where she turned on the road till where the acident was is about 50-75 yards and she has never been one to speed or drive spirtly so im sure the 35-40mph impact was fairly correct.
i was very impressed with how fast everything was cleaned up and how helpful the firefighters and police were. she had a car full of grocerys an they helped us load them all over to my camaro. i actualy got there before any of the emergency persons did but they came shortly afterwards. the trooper we had was excelnt and did not try to say she did this or she did that (weve had that before) and everything was cleaned up and cars towed to local shop within an hour of when it happend. turns out the woman she hit has the same insurance agent as us so they are gona love us but im sure it will all work out. anyway enough talk here are the pictures. oh this was our first new car we've both had bought it at the end of april didnt have 4000miles on it yet.

bummer. Good thing she's ok and no one got hurt. Those newer cars are designed to crunch up and protect the passenger compartment. Looks like that is what it did. Unfortunately, to have those in the design, a slow impact creates massive damage.

That's exactly what I told her that if it didn't crumple she would be in more pain. I'm just glad she was in the honda vs the camaro even though the camaro has an air bag I'm sure it would not have taken the impact like her honda did. She's on the phone with our insurance now hope to get it all sorted out and find out for sure what they are gona do. Our plan is for her to drive the yukon for a couple of months and ill dd the camaro until we decide what we wanna get her. I'm pushing for another honda but they are replacing the 2011s with the 12s already and they look awful. I'm proud of her she went to work at 6 this morning too she said she was sore all day but didn't complain.

Glad everybody is ok.

wow glad she is ok man.... as often said, vehicles can be replaced.

I would not be surprised if the insurance ends up rebuilding that Honda. It's worth too much to total out.
-
That's what I'm afraid of actualy. We both love the car but I'm afraid if they try to fix it we will be plauged with problems from now on.

Glad everyone's OK. You never know from one minute to the next what's going to happen to you.

Another thing to think about is that these cars may have actually gone up in value due to the disaster in Japan. If it's fixed, you might do pretty well selling it and buying something else.

yeah weve been browsing some lots to see whats out there and most of the used hondas are at or barely below what the new ones are.

I have been looking just for fun and in case my '96 Honda Civic gives up. The plan right now is to replace it with a new one. I found a website that takes the hassle out of price haggling.
http://www.truecar.com/
I found I can get a basic Honda Civic for $15,499. You can plug in any car you want and it will tell you what you should pay.
