HOLY CRAP! you have the exact same.....bend in your hood as i do! I accidently did mine when i didnt realize the hood was stuck open and i tried to shut it. How can i fix it!?
nice rims/tires. I think i may go with some black rockcrawlers next time i go buy tires.
i think you have the same air cleaner too hehe.

Same thing happened to my hood on my 77, took it off and crushed it with the backhoe, that fixed it!! Then we replaced it with one of the two hoods we had layin on the roof of our 74. Like the wheels and tires too! What did you pay for the wheels?

Title: same bend eh?

Actually, I didn't think there was a truck of our vintage that didn't have the bend now-a-days.  Its caused by poor design of the hinges, and not lubricating them enough.  The bend came with the truck, but I have found a place in the same town that quoted me an OEM replacement for around $125! so I will get one of those when I get some extra cash.

Unfortunatly the bend in my hood has caused a crease in the sheetmetal and I can't really fix it.  A friend gave me a piece of angle iron, and I may just bolt that on to straighten it out till I get the new hood, that way I can at least get under the hood without smacking my head everytime I stand.

You may also try a set of THESE.  I think when I get the new hood I'm going to mount up a pair.  My hood is a little beyond the help of these right now.  Try a set and let me know how they work, also... keep those hinges good and lubed.

As for the wheels, they are a set of American Racing Steel Rallys that I got at Discount Tire for $75/pc.  I bought the 15X8 size (4" backspacing) and tossed some 275-60R-15s BFGoodrich T/As all the way around.  Makes for a real nice setup.  I was disapointed to find out they didn't come with the trim rings ($35/pc extra) but I can find them for $20/pc new at newstalgiawheel.com or I can find a set off eBay for cheaper.  The rims are also a dual bolt pattern, which I didn't care for, but with the trim cap in the center it doesn't show.

As for the air-cleaner.  Its an AdvancedAuto special, 14" Holley Maxflow 360.  I said to heck with it and paid the extra $5 for the Holley name to be stamped on the cleaner :)  Its sitting on top of my Holley 650 spreadbore Carb, which I'm enjoying much more than my Quadrajunk.
