hey everyone! i went to go change my oil this morning, had it running to warm it up a little and noticed gas dripping from the fuel line inlet on carb. i go to tighten it up and it got worse. i removed the fuel line and the carb looks like it is cross-threaded. is there anyway to fix this short of a new carb? any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I don't remember if said what type of carb you had but, I used one of the on my Q-jet. It was few bucks at O'Reillys. Worked like a champ.

sorry, i thought i had a fix with thread sealant and tape, but no. the carb is a 1 bbl rochester monojet. are all rochesters the same size inlet on carb? thanks

I tried to fix mine like that too at first but it still leaked. (with teflon tape) I don't know about the inlet sizes for the I BBLs.

thanks bobcooter for the info. i'm going to try your part, oreilly's has to order it. thanks again.

Glad I could help. I was in the same boat as you thinking I was going to have to get another carb until I found this thing.

teflon tape wont hold up to gasoline.

That's a fact. ;)
