Title: Paint schemes
Post by: 1979C20 on July 25, 2011, 05:40:20 am
I'm looking for different custom paint schemes, 2 tones, stripes, etc for my paint job coming up. I've chosen this color
(http://www.eastwood.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/175x125/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/p19836.jpg)
for my base coat. It is Iridescent Purple, and I love it. But I was thinking about maybes some stripes down the sides, 2 tone, racing stripes, random accent stripes in certain areas. I just don't know what possibilities there are, and I wanted some Ideas. Thanks in advance. Pictures would be GREAT!!!

It all depends on how wild or original you want it. A 2 tone would look good with a white or pearl as the second color. Look up some of our year suburbans, I know they had some custom factory paint jobs with patterns. That could give you ideas if you want original designs. I've seen a later year truck with that same color in a fade to black on the bottom. Or look into someone that can do pinstriping. They can usually match some good colors and designs into areas. Or have a flame paint job. Ghost flames for conservative. Some green if you want wild. Black if you want any of your trim or rims black. Lookup some lowrider paint jobs. They've got alot of patterns, colors, designs, stripes, .... lots to get ideas from. I'm sure there's that color purple on plenty of cars.
