Title: Rearview Mirror Placement
Post by: bladerunner on July 26, 2011, 08:45:38 am
Hi all, new member here with my new-to-me 85 K10 shortbed.

I am in the process of getting my truck inspectable and one of the first things I am doing is reattaching the rearview mirror.  I was wondering if anyone had any specifics on the placement of the mirror?  I realise I can put it where ever feels best to me, but I would like it positioned closest to factory positioning.  Anyone feel like getting a measuring tape out?

I will be sure to post some pics of my rig soon as well. Thanks for the help!

The inspector would certainly be happiest if it were in the original position, but the P.O. of my truck told me he couldn't keep the mirror attached. I haven't tried yet, as that mirror is long gone and I'm used to using the side ones anyway. (no inspections here :) )
I did think about putting a shelf up and just bolting a mirror to that, though.

Usually there is a little bit of glue residue where the stock mirror used to be. Do you have a new windshield by any chance? It's dead center horizontally in the windshield and about three inches down from the top.
