Title: DEAR CONGRESS,
Post by: Blazin on July 26, 2011, 07:50:46 pm
Last year I mismanaged my funds and this year my family and I cannot decide on a budget. Until we have come to a unified decision that fits all of our needs and interests we will have to shut down our checkbook and will no longer be able to pay our taxes. I'm sure you'll understand. Thank you very much for setting an example we can follow.

Such "leaders" we have, we all strive to be like them.  They need to increase unemployment benefits now so they, themselves can take advantage of them when they get VOTED OUT OF OFFICE!!!
Republican, Democrats, whatever---this bipartisan crap must go.  Watching Obama talk about how Reagan increased the debt ceiling and all other presidents have done so and it makes no sense not to pass it.   HELLO! Who voted AGAINST raising the debt ceiling in '06 in Congress when W. was president?  hint: his middle name is Hussein. Hipocrite.

Del, I think this might your reference.
Obama Wisdom - 2006

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can not pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

-- Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006

You do realize your congressperson has an email phone and mailing address right? Let them know how you feel.

I have emailed these guys down here so much I am probably on some "watch list". Want to save money?  Here's an idea. Quit giving Social Security and Welfare to illegal immigrants. Does the word "illegal" not ring a bell with anyone?  Everyday 1000's who have NEVER paid 1 red cent of income tax in their miserable lives get signed up to steal OUR retirement benfits that we have worked hard and payed into.
This is not a Democrat problem or a Republican problem. It is a total lack of leadership and I say vote every incumbent out in 2012.
One more thing, everything that I was taught that was right when I was a kid growing up is now wrong, and everything I was taught that was wrong is now right. Thanks.

Bob, you're forgetting one thing.  They are not illegal anymore....at least it is not PC to call them "illegal'.  They are undocumented immigrants, not illegal aliens....we don't want to hurt their feelings.

Here is a scary thought. I am poor as poor gets. I have 4 and ½ kids, I work fulltime, go to school fulltime, and have more debt and bills piled up then I would care to share. heck I even get food stamps to help ease some of the pain of over priced crappy food. Yet the government managed to come after me for a defaulted student loan and THEY GOT THEIR MONEY, the government came after me for past taxes and THEY GOT THEIR MONEY, but because I am white, and working I get told that there are no programs out there that can help us. And when I say help I mean a simple, hey my power might get shut off and I have to decide between feeding my kids or keeping the lights on.
But the government is going to turn around and do exactly what ever they want, tax the poor, add to inflation, not offer any real help for the economy and instead ever expand their budgets or simply not manage them correctly.
Yet my family and I have our feet in the fire month after month and trust me there are no more cut backs we can do around here short of living in my truck. But what do I know, I must just be one of those uneducated white trash folks….

I hear ya. My Dad was a prisoner of war in WWII and he could never get any help from the VA, becuase they said they had no record of him ever serving. He died in 1980 and we never even got a flag for his coffin. Three years ago we proved to the VA that he did serve. My Mom still had his discharge papers. Since my Dad had been a POW, they owed my Mother surviver benefits from the day my Dad died to present. Well, heck, by then she was 82 years old. Then, the VA did just what I expected them to do. They played the waiting game with her $300,000.00 in back pay until she died and now that's the end of that. My sisters and I could have gone to college on the VA too.
I am sick of seeing Uncle Sugar screw the hard working people of this country and roll out the red carpet to the underserving.
