Title: bedside question

i got a new bed from a 87 gmc for my 82 k10. and on the drivers side right infront of the rear tire its like a support is broken or something is weak. is there a way i can reenforce the bedside and get it straight easily? there is no dents or anything on this bed i got it for a steal off a guy that was parting out a truck that he had bought for the engine and tranny.

there should be a rod going down to the lower fender to keep it sturdy, it is missing?
