Saw a 99 or so F150 at a state Route crossroads with all kinds of emergency response vehicles blocking the way. Sure enough the gas tank was laying on the ground.

forr the tank some fine grit sand paper (wet sanding will save you some sandpaper) and some elbow grease I'd follow that up with a good parts cleaner and a good shot of a surface sealant, either primer or paint wouldnt hurt to do the whole tank while your at it to keep all rust off just make sure you have a good clean surface or the paint will just start to chip off

ill give them a try thanks for all the help

Any auto parts store should have the straps available. If not this sites store should have them.

i got mine from NAPA for around 25 bucks or so.

I got two at advance auto parts for around $50. Then Line-x the tank no more rust and the straps will not rub through the tank

I have them available right now, they are generally on back order but not right now.
I think I emailed you about this.
