Title: random question about thermostat housing sizes
Post by: txchainsawgogi on August 13, 2011, 06:02:35 pm
does anyone know where i can get a thermostat housing with a bolt to bolt distance of 7mm? i really need a metal tube neck/ flange combo... i was thinking a 350 housing would work but its about 1.5mm off.

In that case, I could recommend 3 things, cut it down the middle, bolt it in place, tac weld so you know the gap, then fill inbetween woth weld and grind it smooth. Elongate the holes. Take it to a auto parts store and see if they have any that bolt wider.

Check with a local motorcycle junk/recycling yard.  I would think one off a old honda would be closer than an automobile.
