I need some help real quick, my truck is equipped with a factory oil cooler, and the lines leak. So I boight a standard oil filter adapter without the cooler connections. My current adapter has a snmall flat paper gasket where the bolts go, I need to know if the standard filter adapters use the paper gasket as well. since my oil cooler lines leak, I pulled the lines off, bought the fittings and looped the adapter with a high pressure rubber hose, but the hose ended up touching my headers and burnt a hole in it and leaked oil all over my driveway. I dont have any pictures, but im sure someone will know. Thanks in advance.

The standard adaptor uses a paper gasket under there as far as I recall.

No gasket on the bypass adapter. Make sure the area is clean and torque the bolts to 80 lb-in.

				 ???  Yes or no??

Take Viles word for it, I'm just a dumb body man that turns wrenches for a living! LOL
Like I said as far as I recall. Its been a while since I have had one off.

Okay, thanks guys. I appreciate it.

never seen a gasket for the filter adapter (non oil cooler stuff).

Alright. Got it swapped out tonight. If anybody else is considering removing their oil cooler, youll need a standard oil filter adapter, and two 5/16 x 18 allen key head bolts, and the take a 1/4in allen key.

I was so confused just now. All I saw was the avatar and I though blazin said he had never seen a gasket on non oil cooler adapters, after he had just said yes, if he had remembered correctly. Haha. Then I read the user name and was like "OHHH...."
