Did you use the regulator from the old doors or the new?

i used the old one.  the only time it goes up and down is when there is no weather stripping in it

my right side dont like to go up or down. the left side will go down fine but up really slow. can the chanel the weather stipping in not the right size.  or do i need to buy weather striping from year one, classic truck. ive been work on it ever since i put the new doors on. that was four years ago. it sat for two years. now im trying to fix my truck and this is the only thing i cant figure it out.  ive replace the runners, or guids, the regulater, the wheels on the regulater, i greased the wheels and nothing. i thought replceing the weather stripping was going make my truck better but all it did was make more work. im about to go out to the junk yard and see if one from a old truck will work better. i f--- tired of this.

Did you rebuild the regulator with new rollers?
Did you make sure the guide track at the back side of the glass inside the door panel itself is aligned correctly?

If you got the wrong weatherstripping, here's a pic of the differences between the two.  73-80 trucks had thicker glass and needed thinner rubber seals, 81-up had thinner glass and needed thicker rubber seals.

here's a pic of the two side by side. (73-80 on top) (81-up on bottom)

Either weather stripping would work for the 81-87 glass, it would just be loose in the channel with the 73-80 stripping. But only 73-80 weather stripping would work for 73-80 glass since its too thick for the 81-87 glass. you probably have 73-80 glass with 81-87 weather stripping.

Hit the felts with some silicone spray before you spend any more money.
