Title: Brake booster vacuum line
Post by: 1979C20 on August 26, 2011, 07:07:42 pm
Last night I installed a new weiand speed warrior high rise air gap intake manifold on his 83 c10 short bed with a crate 350. When I put his driver side valve cover on.it was a tight fit between the ac brackets, wiring loom, and brake booster line. Well, he has valve cover studs and when I put the cover on the stud grabbed the gasket above the #1 piston and pulled it in and it leaked oil.everywhere. So he brought it back today and I put a new gasket on. It doesnt leak anymore, but since its so hot outside and his truck was so hot my big meaty man claw pawed at the brake booster line and broke the plastic fitting on the little cylinder thats in line with the brake booster. Not the check valve that plugs into the booster, but the little black cylinder halfway in the line. What is that cylinder. I thought it was a filter but oreilly couldnt find anything.

Okay, thanks beastie.

Reload, yes I'm posting from my phone, its a touch screen android so I can view the whole site and post as if it were from a computer, but my fat fingers sometimes press the wrong key and there will be random periods in between words or stuff like ".bb" and miss spellings and stuff. I try to.catch them before I submit my posts.
