Title: selectorvalve question
Post by: JDaniel on August 29, 2011, 12:25:53 pm
hello all,
I needed to replace the selectorvalve, the old one was with 1 wire ,the new one is 6wires, can i just connect the 1 wire who switches from 0 volt to 12 volt to 1 of the six wires ,or do i need to connect them all?
does the valve work like the old types , just switching when 12 volt is sent?

who can help??

from the wiring diagram that I had when I replaced mine the valve switched from reversing the polarity of two of the wires dont know which one off hand

so if i understand it correct , you connected the 1 wire from the old valve to 1 of the wires(6) from the new valve?

Why does your old one have 1 wire and the new one has 6 ?  Do you have the right selector switch ?

hi all ,
my switch sends 1 wire to the valve where i can put 12V on it.
(the old valve had 1 connection)
the store in belgium ordered a new valve at   usa and they told that the old type is not longer avialable so they sent a 6wire valve, but that needs 2 wires where i can put 12 v on it, i'm gonna try to change my switch so i can use the new valve ,i think i need 2 wires where i can put 12V on it
first stand= 12v to 1 wire
second stand= 12v to the other wire
i think that is the solution.
is their anyone who changed his 1wire valve to a 6wire type without changing the switch?
i checked the switch and i think i can put a second connection in ,so i'm gonna try that first.

sorry for my bad english
grtz from a little country (Belgium)
Pete

You will need to switch the polarity of the wires

The following is just a example. Which would switch tanks and not the gauge.

Left tank
Wire A = +
Wire B = -

Right tank
Wire A = -
Wire B = +

yes ok thx, i'm now searching wich kind of switch i have to use .

the easiest way is keep the old switch to operate the gauge and to mount a 2nd switch to operate the valve.

thx for the help
