Title: C20 lowering
Post by: notallthere on September 01, 2011, 08:21:49 pm
I am looking at lowering the truck a little since I am sick and tired of the nose bleeds every time I get into it.  The rear is going to be simple as I have hangers and shackles already for the truck.

The question I have what would you recommend for a front drop.
1/2 ton springs
1 ton spindles - may have to re do the brakes as the bearings are different not sure about the rest thou
eibach suburban springs
DJM lower control arms

I am just not sure which way to go.  I read the information that is on this site but looking for recommendations also because I am not sure which way to go.

The truck
1979 C20 w/350

if you like the way the ride is go with just a lowering spindle give you a couple of inches if you want to go down farther get new springs

yea spindles are great option for you. other options are springs, control arms . i believe they make arms for that.

I was thinking spindles for two inches and the rear will drop down about 4 but the rear of the truck will still sit quit abit higher then that of the front.  Since the truck has 9 leafs in the rear I may pull out two or three of the leafs.
