Friend of mine that I grew up with lives in Indiana. He mentioned to me last night about the festival they have near him.
I don't know why its coming up contenet not available. Its the same URL as I posted on a local off road site, and an Indiana / Ohio bases site I frequent and it works fine from both of them but not here??
For any of you that are on Facebook, if you do a search for
" The Covered Bridge Experience " It should come up.

If you're in northcentral WVa, there is a famous covered bridge in Philippi, WVa. :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippi_Covered_Bridge
Philippi was also the first land battle of the Civil War. The bridge was used by both sides during the war. There is not a specific covered bridge festival, but they have a re-enactment of the battle every spring.

I was on a vacation about 18 yrs ago up through Sharpsburg (Antietam), MD, the C&O Canal from Washington, D.C. up through Hancock, MD, Harpers Ferry (John Brown's Raid) and up through to Gettsyburg, PA (saw the 130th Civil War reenactment '93). On the way to Gettysburg, I stopped a night in Bedford County , PA, this county is known for its covered bridges....like 12 or 15 covered bridges if I recall. I couldn't go to all of them. Visited a few Mason Dixon border markers (original) on the MD/PA line. Then afterwards, went to D.C. to watch the July 4th Fireworks on the way home. Quite a vacation.
