Luckily it was not in, or under the truck. When I go any length of distance I throw it in the bed of the truck but it just sits in the garage otherwise. This tire was in the wheel well of my parts Suburban when I got it. I thought wow a near new tire, no visible weather checking and looked to maybe have a couple hundred miles on it. After looking for something the other day out in the garage this is what I found... I looked up how to determine the age and it was built the second week of 1996.

I posted 2 of the same pics but tried to edit and couldn't. Here is the other pictured.

Good thing it was still on your garage floor and not on your truck when it decided to come apart.

I once bought a used 2000 GMC 1/2 ton.
It had a few issues I knew about before paying for it. When I got it home and starting snooping around more, well I was missing the tire changing tools first of all. I mean, who takes that out of a truck and doesn't put it back?
The spare tire was a mess, it had bulges in the sidewalls and a large bulge with wires showing right in the middle of the tread surface. I guess the same person that loses the tire tools also puts bad spares back under the box.
Wish I had pictures of that sucker :-\
