OK, I'm going to ask your guys opinion as I'm going to beat my head in here with choices,
My truck's getting a few rust issues so I plan to go ahead and paint it.
I've been quoted pretty much $2700 to paint it the same red it has right now (but not the middle light brown stripe)

or at least $3000 (due to increased number of coats) to paint it these Indian Bronze:

Should I just go with the red and save the at least $300? The red probably wouldn't stand out as much so that'd be good.I cannot remember my password to photobucket so it'll take awhile before I can show the red, but it's pretty common on these trucks, mine's an 1984 sierra classic. I'd have to change the interior, but that's going to have to happen anyway. New door panels and dash are a must. I'd just get them in black. Then carpet and seat and headliner.

The decision is ultimately up to you. I am a stock kinda guy so my vote would be stick to the original color and save the extra $. Red is a popular color but it is your truck... My $.02

Does the extra $300 include painting the interior metal that shows also?
-
Yup. Except under the hood. That'll still be red.
Unfortunately, I think it was just red that was original? The truck is no where near original, it came with a 305/th350c combo, right now it's got a 383/700r4 setup. A lot of it does look like it belongs though, so maybe red is the way to go? The metal trim will not be going back on there, that rubrail or whatever it's called??

Do you mean that you are going to get it painted 1 color instead of two tone ( I assume that is the truck in the pic ) ?
-
yeah, I'm not a big fan of 2-tones.
