right now on my 87 ive got 15 inch Eagle Alloys. the tires are Pacemark(co-op tire) 255-70R15 on all 4. what i want are 15 inch Cragar series S/S's on all 4 but with wide low profile tires such as 60's on the back and not as wide tires on the front like 70's. another option is to buy two 10" inch wide Eagle Alloy reams like the kind i have on it now to put on the back and then put 60's on them. which would ya'll do? and how can i find out the series of my Eagle Alloy reams ive got now on my truck?

The 60's and 70's you are referring to is the aspect ratio. It has nothing to do with the width of the tire, but it has everthing to do with the height. You are using both interchangably. I am not fully understanding what it is you are after, but.... If you like the width of the current tire, but want a shorter tire, a 255/60/15 will give you that.
Example: (number will be approximate)
255/70/15 = 10.00" Wide with a 7" sidewall yeilding a 29" tall tire.
255/60/15 = 10.00" Wide with a 6" sidewall yeilding a 27" tall tire.
To calculate. Take the section width (255mm) divide by 25.4 (metric conversion to inch factor) this gives you width in inches. Multiply that times the aspect ratio and this gives you the sidewall height. Multiply times 2 and add the rim diameter and that gives you the overall height.
255 / 25.4 = 10.02"
10.02" x .6 = 6.01"
6.01" x 2 = 12.02"
12.02" + 15" = 27.02"

all i know is i have 255/70R/15 tires on all 4. i like the width now but just want a shorter tire on the back. the front i want a skinnier tire but 255/60R/15s on all 4 would be fine. does that sound right? will the 255/60R/15s fit on the rear reams i have now. i think they are 8 inches wide. will it look right? im sorry i dont know much about tires and it sounds like im gettin a little confused.

the combo you are looking for is 225 70 15 - 295 60 15 short skinnies in the front nice big fatties in the rear easy to stear and yet plenty of meat to launch and gives you that bad ass rake we all want out of a static drop

that pretty much sums up lotopp79. but will that combination fit with my 8" reams? it'd be nice for it to sit with those fatties in the rear and skinnies on the front. but will those 295 60 15s fit on my reams which im pretty sure are 8" wide?

275's are the max recommended size for an 8" tire. Wear will be an issue. Anything above 275mm really needs a 10" rim.

alright, so i can put 275s on my 8 inch reams but it will wear the tire out faster. well i guess i need to try to find a set of 10 inch Eagle Alloy reams. all i need is two for the rear . the thing is when i order or buy some i dont know what series they are. they're the 5 star aluminum with a round centercap and within that is a 6 sided shape with a black round piece that says Eagle Alloys. so can any of you tell how to find this info. out and where is a good place to buy reams at a low price since i am on a tight budget.thanks for the helpful info. by the way

No, 275's are fine on an 8" rim. Anything wider and you need 10" rims.

my bad the 275s are what you want nice set up though wider and like a inch taller then the 225s there the look you want
back in the old days before big rim was the look that was the only way to go

i went to Gateway Tire Center after school today. they have 275/60R/15 Lee Turbo Action tires. i know thats what i want on the back. the front i think i'll get 225/75R/15s. the tires are $72.85 each for the 275/60R/15s.to put them on and all is $181.86 dollars. thats a good deal I think. the tires there i think are cheaper than the co-op tires. i am going to check with co-op though.they had some 295/60R/15s lotopp79 that would look pretty good too but ill have to buy 10" reams.
