Title: aftermarket seats.
Post by: 78 Chevyrado on September 12, 2011, 04:44:59 pm
What do you guys recommend for upgrading my seat so I can carry 3 people.  I want one of those seats that has a center console that folds up into a center seat.

It's a 78 c20 regular cab, so i have the humps for the gas tanks in the floor.

I'm at a point now that I either have to be able to carry 3 people, or have to get a crew cab, and I'd like to keep my grandads truck.  I gotta have a console though.  I have too much junk to go without it.  and it has to be available in red, and cloth, no vinyl or leather, as fried butt isnt good.

Also I need them to be comfortable, as I take road trips fairly regularly in it that go up to 400 miles one way.

I am SO hating to get rid of my burban buckets, but I gotta be able to carry more than 2 people.  I been driving the focus WAY too much and I'm not having it.  I built the truck to drive it, and it irritates me when I can't.  focus sucks, truck is the bomb.   ;)

Kenny, i've offered it before but if you want to try and fabricate a center section and keep your Suburban buckets I have the fabric/padding from the rear seat (small passenger side 2nd row) out of my 1991 Suburban.  I'd be happy to cut it out and send it to you.  Shipping wouldn't be much... Something to ponder...

I like the wranglers, too bad it'll be a good spell before I can afford them.

the qualitex seats would be a great option, the only negative is that they are on the pricy side. i got lucky and got a used one for $100 from someone who was parting out their c10. if cost is a factor i agree that fabricating something would be a good option.

Pricey but worth the upgrade and comfort.
