Title: floor vents (addition of)
Post by: p7387 on September 13, 2011, 02:43:49 am
i took a donor interior from another truck which had no ac but did have floor vents. my current 87 2wd has no floor vents. after examining around the inner fender area i was questioning where the air inlet would be. are there any different pieces or modifications that i will need to make for the retrofit?

thank you

i know in my 79 it has ac and i have found leaves on the passengers side vent also the blower is right there so i assume the vent is vented from the cowl and all the trucks have it

the set up seems ambiguous. inside the cab the vents (the doors that you pull open or closed with the lever) are not on my 87. but if i do install the vents from the donor truck i still can' t figure out where the air ducts that supply the air are. like irish said are these included on all trucks?

On my non a/c cab there is a 1" opening at the bottom of the firewall piece where it is attached to the A pillar. You can't see it with the fender on the truck.

yes-
i wonder if that particular opening is there on all cabs regardless of the interior having vents?

That lower hole is the drain for the cowl. All outside air is supplied through the cowl no matter if AC or not.
