Title: Electrical Conection
Post by: apchas on September 24, 2011, 10:56:18 am
I just changed out a 305 to a 350 in my 1984 Chevy SB 4x4. I have to connections that I don't know where they go. First is a Red 2 pin connector. 2nd is a 4 pin connector with green seal near the back of the engine. Where do they go. I did not see any open plugs. I checked the kick down and its hooked up. Engine runs and drives good.

First I would ask for pics, so we can see the plugs (and if they are standard), second I would ask if all your gages work, and does everything still work that did before the swap ?

The truck was not running what I got the truck. The truck was sitting for 5 years. The only gauge that is not working good is the water temp and gas gauges. I know the sensor for the temp gauge is not mounted in the engine.  I am still working on engaging the 4 wheel drive.

The (2) pin looks like it is really only 1 wire which to me looks to be an inline fuse wire, the four pin set up looks to be for trans, do you have a auto trans ?  Have you traced where these wires go, that way when others look at this thread they might have a better answer for you.

The 4 pin gown into the harness and gets lost. the 2 pin has two wires. 700R4 Automatic. Does the 2 pin go to the MP208? I saw in another post a connection on top of the gear box? I do not have a light on the dash for the 4x4 engaged?
