Title: high stall converters and 4 wheel drive
Post by: screamin86 on September 29, 2011, 05:33:38 pm
Just curious if anyone runs a higher stall converter in any 4x4s around here? If so what do you use the truck for what size converter do you run and what motor is in it. I ran a 2800 12in acc converter in my 86 k10 with a th350 I could footbrake it to 2400 with 31s on it and 2600 with 33s. And imo drove almost strock otherwise until you got on it. Made it nice since I wasn't using a kick down cable it would still flash enough for me to pass in overdrive. I did not run a external cooler just the one in my 2row champion radiator and never had a problem. Loaded the truck down many times more than I should have and the stall only seemed to help it pull better.
