Title: Dress up engine compartment
Post by: ToreyC on October 18, 2011, 10:23:33 pm
I'm doing a full resto on an 81 chevy. I'm trying to get some different ideas on how to clean up the engine compartment. My truck does have a/c and i'm tryin to figure out if i want to shave where the coil is and how to do it, or if i want to just leave it and paint the casing the same color as the truck. Any input, ideas, and pics would be appreciated.

Do you want to keep your ac unit ?  I have seen pic's on this site with ac and they have painted or chromed the ac unit out and they look really good.

I definately want to keep the ac unit. I have read a little bit about a kit that mounts under the dash so you can keep the ac but still clean up the fire wall. I know vintage air has a kit to do this but i haven't heard many reviews about weather they are good or bad. I just can't decide which route to do, but if i do keep the stock unit, i will probably end up painting it.
