Title: 2wd lift kit
Post by: rockin_77 on October 24, 2011, 10:38:56 pm
So i found a 2wd lift kit for my truck but its for a c10 not a c20. It is a brand new fabtech 3 inc coil and balljoint spacer lift. Would the coil lift my truck at all?

I would contact fabtech and ask them since they made it, who knows maybe it will work.

It should, depending on what motor you have, and what motor it was for. If it was for a half ton truck that had a small block, and yours has a big block.  Also, go to a parts house and take a look at the ball joints for a c10 and a c20. As long as the mounting holes are the same, it should work just fine. You could even go on auto zones website and look up the balljoints for each truck; if the number is the same for both, you'll be just fine. I would bet that you're going to have to compare them, though. As long as the bolt pattern is the same, and the ball joint will mount up on the spacer, you shouldn't have any problems. Take the spacer with you when you go, and explain what you're trying to do.

Or, go on Fabtech's website, look up the parts breakdown, and see what is different; if anything.

Good luck with it!

Fabtech doesnt list these lifts anymore the last time I checked.

In that case, I would do the other option I listed...look up the ball joints and compare them. Compare the springs, and if it all looks like it will bolt up the same, go for it. As long as you don't have a big block, and that lift was for a small block, you should be ok...

Ok I will do that. My truck has a small block in it.

I did a little research for you; the balljoints are not the same part number, but the springs are. I believe the only thing you'll need to do is go to an auto parts store and compare the balljoints. They should have the same bolt pattern, which means your spacers should work.

They have the same bolt patter but the ball joint spacer has a smaller hole for the 1/2 ton ball joints.

Either that, or see if it can be machined out if you really want to use it...

Ill post some pics in a bit. If it was machined out it there wouldn't be enough material left over
