I am having a problem with my engine dying when i pull the headlight switch out. I assume it may be an electrical short possibly. I have had one other time where i was running down the road and the engine just shut down. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I have an 87 V10 with a 305 4 speed manual. The dash is off and i also have a short on one of my cluster lamps.

couple things bad alt. or ground. i have never heard of this but seams the headlight draw is more than the alt can keep up with. does it do it all the time? or just every now and then? does it do it with just the parking lights? or better yet only drive in the day light 8)

Also check your fusible links. You can do this by giving each one a tug.
There are two by the starter and more at the junction block on the firewall
