Title: Yet another newbie from AZ
Post by: Project86 on November 06, 2011, 07:06:10 pm
Been looking at the site for a few months and thought I would share my project. I picked up an 86 C10, S/B, 305 V8, 700R4, Silverado trim, with just under 83,000 miles on the clock, it was purchased new on 1/1/86 here in the Phoenix area and has spent all it's life here. I got it from a family member of the original owner along with maintenance records dating back to 1990. Other than the wheels it's all original up to and including the original radio. Looks pretty good from 20 feet and in the photos but the paint has been buffed down to the primer on most of the feature lines. Plans are for a repaint, differant wheels/tires, and basically take it back to like new for a really clean driver. Here is a link to Photobucket (hope it works) with a couple pics, one is of the untouched frame after nothing more than a little soap & water.

Welcome from Alaska.  Nice looking truck; can still see the "29" on the frame.  Anything of that era up here would be a huge rust bucket.  Glad to see someone get it that appreciates it.

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm originally from the midwest so I definitely appreciate the rust free condition. I had an 87 V10 that I sold back in 95, when I sold it then it was already starting to rust on the cab corners and both fuel tanks needed to be replaced due to rust.

That's amazing.  You'd never see that around here on a two or three year old truck.
