Title: GM WHEEL COMPATABILITY:
Post by: Stewart G Griffin on August 06, 2006, 02:31:00 pm
Which of the newer trucks,  88-97 or 97 to present wheels will fit a 73-87 1/2 ton?

Any other good suggestions?  I.e., Impala SS etc.

any 5 lug pickup from 1970 - 1999 will fit.  Backspacing will be different, but they will fit.  Also any Astro Van wheels will fit.  All fullsize HD caprices will also fit.  Along with the Impala (including the SS).

Only the 96-02 astro van wheels are 5x5 before that they were 5x4.75 and later years went to 6x5.5

OK, great.

What is an "HD" as in HD caprice?

Heavy Duty Caprice.  I can't remember how to tell but the later ones (Impala SS styled bodies) I believe were all 5 on 5"

All GM B-Bodies from 91-96(caprice,Impala SS, buick roadmasters, and Cad Fleetwoods) used 5 on 5.

I should know, I own a 96 SS and belong to a national club for them.
