Title: california registered but no smog equipment
Post by: mrnda on November 14, 2011, 09:05:01 am
i have posted this question elsewhere on this site hopefully the crew cab group will have esperience with this.

Picked up my long awaited for new to me truck today.  1984 crew cab with a L6, it was last registered in 2004 but does not have any smog equipment on the truck.  Previous owner is in California and is original owner I believe, is there any bowtie Jedi masters that might be able to explain how this is possible? I would like to throw a 350 in it but if i have to keep the straight six in for non-smog reasons that is okay with me. The VIN is posted below.  Thanks for any wisdom and shared experience

by what ive looked up for cailifornia smog requirements its suppose to have smog equipment on it. so most likely the guy took it off. also do you live in california or do you live in a different state cause other states are more easy on the older vehicles and lose having to have the emissions for it after so many years
