I have an 84 chevy half ton 2wd. has a 305 and a 700r4 right now. we just put a 355 together for it and tranny in it now is slippin. i have a th350 that was just rebuilt, tailshaft is 9 1/4., I was wondering what ill need to change to make it work. Will driveshaft and shift linkage work?

check the lengths of each transmission. I know the short tail shaft TH 350 will replace the 3 speed "three on the tree" trans with no modifications. The long tail shaft TH 350 works for the 700R4, same yolks.

so the 9 1/4 would be the long tailshaft? and would shift linkages, lines etc need changed? Someone was saying speedo wouldnt work right. both are cable though, gear inside retainer might be diff

I don't know the lengths of the tail shafts but everything else should work fine. I am going from a TH350 to a 700R4 week after next in my 85 C10.
